NEEC believes that by helping to close the wealth gap we can start to address systemic issues and inequitable policies that will improve the economic security of residents in the Commonwealth.

New England Equity Collective goals are to accelerate funding and access to homeownership and affordable housing in the New England region, in ways that are locally-led, measured, and sustained. NEEC acts as a channel partner for corporate and philanthropic organizations to:

  • Provide financial assistance for low-to-moderate-income individuals and families who aspire to own their first home, helping them overcome the barrier of down payments.

  • Create a sustainable investment model that attracts private investors to rehab government-owned or abandoned properties. These properties will be developed into mixed-income housing with a portion of units offered at subsidized rates.

  • Empower community members through educational programs that enhance financial literacy, promote homeownership, and secure long-term financial stability.

  •  Develop inclusive housing solutions tailored to the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), providing safe, accessible, and affordable living options while promoting independent living.

The New England Equity Collective is dedicated to serving a diverse range of constituents, with a particular focus on BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities, veterans, underserved communities and first-time homebuyers. These groups are at the heart of the collective's mission, as they are often disproportionately affected by systemic barriers to homeownership, including limited access to affordable housing, credit disparities, and a lack of financial literacy resources.

The collective's initiatives are designed to address these challenges by providing targeted support, education, and resources to empower underserved individuals and families, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to achieve homeownership. By focusing on first-time homebuyers within these communities, the New England Equity Collective aims to break cycles of economic disparity, fostering generational wealth and stability.

The organization's efforts include educational programs to enhance financial literacy, down payment assistance grants, and advocacy to promote equitable housing policies. Through these efforts, the New England Equity Collective strives to create a more inclusive, equitable housing landscape where every individual has the opportunity to own a home and secure a stable, prosperous future.
